It’s time to bury the hatchet, because August 25 is National Kiss and Make Up Day. Peace is a powerful tool, and these celebs know that the only way to preserve a friendship is to compromise, take the high road, and move on. To quote Mean Girls, “I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy.” I hope Drake and Meek Mill are listening, because they could take a page from this book! Here are some celebs who have had a falling out but managed to say sorry and hug it out!
The Fallout: The peak of Kim and Chyna’s BFF-status is marked by the iconic booty selfie they took in 2014. Sadly, things began to unravel for the besties in 2015, when Kylie Jenner started dating Tyga (Chyna’s ex) and Kim obviously had to side with the fam. To make matters even more awkward, Chyna started dating, then got engaged to, and then pregnant by Rob Kardashian.
Blac Chyna & Kim Kardashian
The Make-Up:In April 2016, Kim and Blac Chyna rekindled their friendship in the most Kardashian way possible– an LA shopping trip where paparazzi could capture the moment. Chyna even attended Khloe Kardashian’s birthday bash in May, where she took happy selfies with her future in-laws.
The Fallout: Who can forget Nene and Kim’s epic feud over their hit single, “Tardy for the Party?” Throughout RHOA, the two always had to one-up each other, which would inevitably result in screaming and tears.
NeNe Leakes & Kim Zolciak
The Make-up: Nene and Kim reunited on Watch What Happens Live in 2014 and said they were “stronger than ever.” The pair even began production on a new reality show together called The Road to Riches, but production stopped last year due to their busy schedules.
The Fallout: The dynamic duo won three championships together, but they argued the entire time, and often came close to punching each other. The two only stopped fighting once Lakers shipped O’Neal off to the Miami Heat.
Kobe Bryant & Shaquille O’Neal
The Make-Up: Last year, on Shaq’s podcast (of all places), Kobe and Shaq finally made up and forgave each other on air. Shaq attended Kobe’s final game this April and hugged it out on the court.
The Fallout: Back in 2014, a beef between Fif and Floyd heated up. Fiddy called the boxer “illiterate” and Floyd clapped back, calling Fif “irrelevant.”
50 Cent & Floyd Mayweather
The Make-Up: The two buried the hatchet in 2015. They were spotted partying in Las Vegas, with Fiddy calling Mayweather his “brother” on Instagram.
The Fallout: Back in 2011, Fat Joe said he could never make amends with Remy Ma. “Me and Remy, we fell out. When her album came out and it didn’t do as good as she anticipated, she wanted to blame somebody. I could never forgive Remy Martin. She really hurt my feelings.”
Remy Ma & Fat Joe
The Make-Up Remy and Fat Joe have rekindled their friendship and professional career together. They are on top of the hip hop game with this year’s explosive hit “All the Way Up.”
The Fall-Out: Back in 2010, when LeBron James announced he would be leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, got all in his feelings. Who can forget the totally unprofesh “Open Letter” to Lebron he posted?
LeBron James & Dan Gilbert
The Make-Up: LeBron came home to Cleveland in 2014 and won the city its first NBA title this summer. I guess it’s safe to say things are pretty good now.
The Fallout: When Kelly called Gaga a “butterface” in a 2009 interview, she received death threats from Gaga’s Little Monsters. Years later, Gaga gave Kelly’s mom, Sharon, a cake to smooth things over, and Kelly tweeted, “#eatmysh-t.”
Lady Gaga & Kelly Osbourne
The Make-Up: The following day, Kelly tweeted an apology to Gaga, asking to meet up and bury the hatchet. This meeting went well, because the two were spotted dancing together at Elton John’s Oscars Party in 2015.
The Fallout: These two basically coined the term “frenemy.” During filming of The Simple Life, they weren’t speaking, with Paris telling reporters, “Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I’m ever going to say about it.”
Paris Hilton & Nicole Ritchie
The Make-Up: Time heals all wounds. On Watch What Happens Live in 2014, Nicole confirmed that the two are on good terms today, and will be in each other’s lives forever: “We are very good friends, I love her and love her family.”
The Fallout: Avril put T-Swift on blast when Tay hit favorite on a Tumblr post comparing the “distant” behavior of Avril’s fans to her own Swifties.
Avril Lavigne & Taylor Swift
The Make-Up: Bandaids don’t fix bullet holes, but a squad invite might. To make amends, Swift invited Lavigne to perform Complicated as part of her 1989 Tour last year.
The Fallout: When Victorious was cancelled in 2013, Ari and Victoria blamed each other on Twitter. Ari wrote, “Sweetheart the only reason Victorious ended is because 1 girl didn’t want to do it.” Victoria clapped back with, “Some people would throw some1 they consider a friend under the bus just 2 make themselves look good. #StopBeingAPhony #IfTheyOnlyKnew.”
Ariana Grande & Victoria Justice
The Make-Up: Around Christmas in 2015, Victoria and Ari ended their feud in the most epic way– a pajama party. V posted an IG pic of the totally adorable cast reunion.
