Jose Mourinho makes United vow as he responds to Benfica speculation
Jose Mourinho has vowed not to talk about Manchester United and ‘wash dirty clothes’ when asked about reports he could be the next manager of Benfica after the sacking of Rui Vitoria.
It has been three weeks since the Portuguese was sacked by Manchester United and in that time he has been linked with a number of clubs including former side Benfica who dismissed their manager last week.
Mourinho has been asked about the reports as he enjoys some time off in Portugal visiting friends but said nothing about United when he answered.
“ I understand the question, but I do not like the answer,” he told Portuguese outlet Correio da Manhã, via Sport Witness. “I always learned that when you leave a club, you do not talk.
“When you leave a club, you do not wash dirty clothes, when you leave a club, you do not seek to, at least publicly, do any kind of criticism, it’s an ended chapter and that’s how I always did it.
